SWINIMER, Roy Lewis

Age 98, of the Veteran’s Unit, Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg, and formerly of Western Shore, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Born in Western Shore, he was a son of the late Norman and Effie (Sawler) Swinimer. Roy was a surviving war veteran of the Second World War. He served in the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry and served his country overseas in France and England where he had been wounded. Roy had also been in Holland when it was liberated. Roy was a friend to all and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by nieces, nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Wilma (Young); brothers, Austin, Ronald and Fred; sister, Nettie Zwicker; an infant sister. Roy requested that there not be visiting hours nor flowers. A memorial service will be held 2 pm, Thursday, October 5th, 2017 at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Martin’s Point, Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating. Interment will be in Western Shore Cemetery.
