GARLICK, Frances Marion Beaubien

Age 65, Broad Cove, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully in her sleep October 26, 2017, at home, 13 days after she and her husband Stephen celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. Born in Montreal, she was a daughter of the late Mary and John Beaubien. For many years, Marion was office manager at Covey Island Boatworks in Petite Riviere. She was a past board member of Credit Union Central of Nova Scotia and of Harbour House, Bridgewater. Most recently, she was a director of Nova Scotia Credit Union Deposit Insurance Corporation. In her retirement, Marion worked part-time at LaHave River Books. Marion loved to cook and to garden. She also enjoyed welcoming family and friends to her favourite room at home, a beautiful greenhouse, where she spent many hours among her flowering plants. Marion will be greatly missed by her husband, Stephen; son, Josh and his partner, Laura Pitts, Broad Cove; son, Matthew of Victoria, BC; best friends, Gael Watson and Peggy Greer and by all who knew her, including pet dog Beau and cat Mungo. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or to a charity of choice.
