Woman hospitalized after Chester Basin fire

A woman was sent to hospital in Halifax, and two people required treatment following a late night fire September 25 in Chester Basin.

The fire around 11 p.m. gutted the house on the Croft Road in Chester Basin, according to the Canadian Red Cross.

Volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross helped a man with emergency purchases like clothing and other support once he was released from hospital in Bridgewater for treatment of smoke inhalation.

The Chester, Western Shore and Martins River fire departments all responded to the blaze with the New Ross fire department assisting.
