Two vehicle crash shuts down Highway 103 outside of Bridgewater

RCMP shut down Highway 103 between Exits 12 and 13 following a 911 call reporting a two vehicle crash just before 7 p.m on January 31. The highway remained closed into the night and early morning of February 1.

According to a news report on CKBW, the crash resulted in a fatality after a car heading westbound crossed the centre line and collided with a tractor-trailer. The radio station says the lone male driver of the car was killed on impact.

The Bridgewater fire department and EHS assisted at the scene along with the Bridgewater Police Service.

At approximately 3 a.m. on February 1, RCMP said Highway 103 between Exits 12 and 13 was currently closed in both directions and was expected to be closed for at least four to six hours.Traffic is being re-routed through Bridgewater at Exits 12 and 13.

A collision re-constructionist was called to the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
