Trio arrested for vehicle thefts, break-ins spanning three counties

Bridgewater residents are among a trio accused in break-ins and vehicle thefts spanning three counties.

Vanessa Rose Rines, 21, is charged with 14 crimes, while Tristan John Russell, 23, faces 26 offences, RCMP said in a news release issued July 30.

Meanwhile, a Colchester County man, Tristan Gary Burns, 25, of Truro, is alleged to have committed 33 offences.

Authorities allege the arrests are connected to a recent rash of business break-ins and motor vehicle thefts throughout Lunenburg, Queens and Shelburne Counties during the month of July.

Police said three people were arrested July 25; two of them in Halifax, one in Bridgewater. A home off North Street in Bridgewater was searched by law enforcement the following day.

"Police seized stolen property from several of the locations that had been victimized, as well as some clothing that had been worn during the commission of the offences," RCMP said in the news release. "Two stolen vehicles were also recovered ..."
