Thieves steal charitable organization’s bank deposit in Queens County

Queens County District RCMP are investigating after thieves stole a bank deposit from the car of a charitable organization.

Sometime between 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28 and the following morning of March 1 at 7:30 a.m., an unidentified person or persons broke into a car along the Danesville Loop Road and stole an amount of cash greater than $1,000 from the vehicle.

Rob James, Community Policing Officer with the Queens County RCMP, told LighthouseNOW the funds belonged to Penny Lane Enterprises, a charity based in Milton that assists individuals who face a variety of challenges. The money was destined for the bank when it was stolen.

James said the investigation is still ongoing.

Anyone having knowledge of this or a similar incident, is asked to contact the Queens County R.C.M.P. Detachment @ (902) 354-5721.
