Thanks to a coordinated response by Search and Rescue teams, a youth lost in a wooded area in Westfield, Queens County was quickly found September 29.

A 911 call came in at about 2:53 p.m. to Queens District RCMP. They responded and determined the youth had a low phone battery, and they quickly activated the North Queens Ground Search and Rescue team and the Queens Search and Rescue team, who quickly located the youth within an hour.

"Queens District RCMP would like to thank all the volunteers and community members who assisted in the safe resolution of this search and remind people their local search and rescue teams are made up of local volunteers and could not function without community support," said Staff Sergeant Dan Archibald in a press release issued by the Queens District RCMP.
