Province announces expansion of before-and-after school program

Before-and-after-school care programming is expanding to aid more youngsters in pre-primary to grade six, and a bus service will be made available for eligible pre-primary kids at more than four dozen sites in the province this fall.

Nova Scotia's Department of Education anticipates "continued expansion in 2020" of the before-and-after school physical activity-based program "where needed."

During a news conference August 20 at the Small World Learning Centre in Bridgewater, the province announced busing will be made available at 56 pre-primary sites this year, which is expected to help hundreds of additional children to access the program.
