A pregnant woman was checked over and sent to hospital as a precaution following a fire in her Hunt's Point home.

Shortly after 7 p.m. Nov. 12, members of the Liverpool Fire Department (LFD) were called to a residential fire in Hunt's Point, Queens County. Upon arrival, they found a fire contained in a bedroom in the front of the home.

LFD Capt. John Long said the fire was extinguished quickly and vented.

"The house was not a total loss. Damage was contained to that area of the front bedroom," he said.

About 40 firefighters from the Port Medway, Greenfield and North Queens fire departments attended the scene.

Long said the cause of the fire was undetermined, but it was "believed to be accidental."

It was noted there were others in the home at the time of the fire, but the number of people was unknown.

There were no other injuries reported.
