Missy goes missing: horse on the lam in Hebb’s Cross

Story and Photo By DAVID SORCHER

A newly acquired horse named Missy broke through the fence of it's holding area and made a break for it, traveling east down the middle of Highway 103 near Hebb's Cross at about 3:15 p.m. on May 5.

The horse was almost caught in the parking lot of The Blarney Stone near Exit 14, but eluded capture and ran onto the Bull Run Trail that runs along behind the restaurant.

After running east on the trail for a bit she cut into the marshy brush that surrounds Fancy Lake. The unidentified owner soon followed after into the marsh in pursuit. It is not known at this time if he was successful in capturing the horse.
