Man, 76, dead after ATV crash in Martins River

A man is dead after a single-vehicle collision involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) in Martins River.

Lunenburg District RCMP responded to the accident at 6:29 p.m. on June 2.

When police arrived on the scene on the Shingle Mill Road, they found a 76-year-old man had become trapped under the ATV, which appeared to have gone off the edge of the road.

EHS and local volunteer firefighters assisted at the scene as well. The driver, who is from Martins River, was pronounced deceased at the scene. No one else was involved in the collision.

An RCMP Traffic Analyst has been called to the scene to assist in determining the events that led to this incident.
