Lunenburg District RCMP is investigating after a motorcycle crash on Highway 3 sent a youth to hospital with serious injuries.
According to a statement by the RCMP released today, at approximately 9 a.m. on September 8 police were dispatched to a complaint of a motorcycle collision on Highway 3 at Spectacle Lake. Police learned that the motorcycle had been travelling north on the highway when it left the roadway and struck a guardrail. The motorcycle rider, a 16-year-old youth, was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered life-threatening injuries. The rider was transported to hospital via Lifeflight.
Highway 3 was shut down for approximately two hours while investigators gathered evidence at the scene. The motorcycle was seized for further investigation and inspection. The investigation is continuing and is being led by the Lunenburg District RCMP, according to the statement.
