The Liverpool International Theatre Festival (LITF), scheduled for this October, has been cancelled.

The announcement was a made on a social media post on March 22.

"Because of the ongoing uncertainty around the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, and travel restrictions, and because we want to help keep our communities safe, we have decided to move the festival, which had been planned for this October, to May 12-15, 2022," read the post.

All of the troupes that had registered for the 2021 event have been invited to LITF 2022. If any of the troupes are unable to travel next year, they will automatically be invited for the 2023 event.

"We'll be back next year, with stronger bonds than ever," said Vic Mills, LITF artistic director, in the post.

Meanwhile, judging continues for the LITF Short Cuts 2020-21 event that began last year and continued into 2021.
