by Keith Corcoran

Volunteer firefighters needed to use the Jaws of Life to cut the roof off of a Honda Civic that crashed July 19 off Highway 103 in Hebbville.

An adult male - the lone occupant of the vehicle - was trapped in the wreck for a period of time before rescue crews were able to free him.

The westbound Civic crossed the centre line while travelling between the Wileville and Hebbs Cross exits during the lunch hour, and smashed into a ditch consisting of rocky terrain.

Paramedics, RCMP, and Hebbville volunteer firefighters were also summoned to the scene.

Traffic restrictions were in place along the stretch of road in the vicinity of the crash.

The extent of the man's injuries were not immediately known.

Police do not anticipate filing any charges.
