Police taped-off a section of Dayspring riverbank as part of an investigation that's prompted a temporary closure of part of Highway 3 near Bridgewater.

Uniformed officers were seen Tuesday morning examining the edge of the LaHave River and checking on something covered in a white blanket on the riverbank.

First responders were summoned before 8 a.m. to a Highway 3 address - in the area where yellow police tape can now be seen - to a report of an adult female, possibly in her 20s, in cardiac arrest. Emergency crews later located a person with vital signs absent.

Lunenburg district RCMP Staff Sgt. Stephen MacQueen wasn't commenting, telling LighthouseNOW a statement would be coming "later today or tomorrow."
