Hundreds of cyclists took to the roads July 11 in Lunenburg County for the annual Heartland Tour, a public awareness and engagement campaign designed to get people thinking about their cardiac health.
The Heartland Tour, organized by the Cardiac Cycling Society of Nova Scotia, is a bike ride through communities in the province in promotion of having a physically active lifestyle.
Participants had the choice of an 80-km road ride departing from Shipyards Landing in Bridgewater or a 30-km trail trek starting in Mahone Bay. There was also a three kilometre walk taking place that also saw the Main Street of the South Shore as a starting point.
