Fire ravages Lower Northfield home

Multple volunteer fire departments are currently working to extinguish a house fire in the Lunenburg County community of Lower Northfield.

Northfield district firefighters were summoned around 1:30 p.m. January 25 and soon confirmed they were dealing with a two storey home ablaze with flames showing on all sides of the building.

It wasn't immediately clear if all occupants of the home managed to escape. An ambulance was on scene.

A section of Northfield Road near the Mossman Station Road remains closed to motorists as responders work the incident and investigate.

A representative of the Nova Scotia's Fire Marshal's Office is expected to attend the scene near the 2000 block of Northfield Road.

Lunenburg district RCMP are also rendering assistance.
