Drunk driving charges filed after ‘partially undressed’ person seen standing in road

Police said a 39-year-old woman faces drunk driving charges after a "partially undressed" person was seen standing in the middle of a Lilydale road after a vehicle stopped along Highway 332 near Lunenburg.

"RCMP members attended the scene and located the female driver of the vehicle, sitting in her car. The driver was clearly intoxicated and was arrested," police said in a statement released June 10.

Lunenburg district RCMP were told June 7 of "an intoxicated motorist who had stopped their car ... in Lilydale and was standing in the middle of the roadway in a state of undress." A spokeswoman for the Mounties clarified the person was "partially undressed."

Law enforcement was dispatched to the call just before 3 p.m.

A woman, whose community of residence was not released, is expected to appear in court in September to answer to charges of impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer.

In same statement, RCMP publicized three other incidents of alleged impaired driving in Lunenburg County from June 5 to 7.
