Crash in Bridgewater injures two people

by Keith Corcoran

A Dodge Caliber and Chevrolet Malibu crashed at the Bridgewater intersection where Baker Street, Victoria Road and St. Phillips Street meet on the west of town, sending a man and woman to hospital with what police believe are minor injuries.

The Malibu was travelling on St. Phillips Street and the Caliber was mobile on Victoria Road leading up to the accident, reported to the authorities the afternoon of November 25.

A woman was driving the Malibu and a man was the sole passenger. The woman driving the Caliber was that vehicle's sole occupant.

The Malibu ended up in the intersection facing toward Wileville with a smashed front-end. The Caliber ended up facing toward St. Phillips Street on the Baker Street side. It sustained passenger-side damage, and the driver's side collided with a utility pole.

It's anticipated police will issue a traffic ticket in relation to the incident, which restricted traffic in the area for about an hour.

Paramedics, in addition to Bridgewater's volunteer firefighters and the town's municipal police force, worked the scene.
