Two men have now been charged in a string of break and enters that occurred within the Town of Bridgewater and in Lunenburg County.

Lunenburg District RCMP released the name of a second man involved in the break and enters, which took place mainly from vehicles. Michael William Knickle, 26, is now charged, along with Matthew Max Knickle, 24, whose name was released yesterday by the Bridgewater Police Services. Both men are from Bridgewater.

On September 6 police received multiple calls of theft from vehicles from Italy Cross to Conquerall Mills. The investigation led police to a home on Phoenix Street in Bridgewater where they recovered a "significant amount" of stolen property.

Both men have been charged with six counts of theft under $5,000 and six counts of possession of property obtained by crime. Both have been remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on September 12 at 9:30 a.m.

Bridgewater Police Services released information on the alleged thefts yesterday saying that the one suspect - Matthew Knickle, had been allegedly involved in some break and enters in the Town of Bridgewater, including one at the Bridgewater pool. They indicated a second person would be charged but that it was the Lunenburg RCMP's jurisdiction as the second suspect had allegedly only been involved in crimes outside of town limits.

Bridgewater Police Services encourage people with missing items to contact their respective police district to make a report as stolen property was just recently discovered from the break ins. Bridgewater police say some of the thefts they were investigating dated back to mid August.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
