Cabin blaze in Queens County deemed ‘suspicious’

Queens District RCMP are calling a blaze that took place in Pleasantfield on January 20 suspicious.

Members of Queens District RCMP were called to the scene of a suspicious fire at 749 Old Garden Rd. at 7 a.m. on January 20. When police arrived on scene, they discovered a small cabin fully engulfed in flames.

Local volunteer firefighters also attended the blaze and were able to extinguish the fire. Only the cabin was damaged, however, the structure was completely destroyed. The building was unoccupied and no one was hurt.

The RCMP has determined the fire to be suspicious in nature. Police are requesting assistance from the public to provide information about the cause.
