Bridgewater man charged with sexual assault

After a female adult acquaintance contacted police earlier in the week of April 6 with a complaint, Bridgewater Police Service have charged Darrell Scheepers of Bridgewater with sexual assault.

Following the complaint, police executed search warrants at two properties in Bridgewater, one where Scheepers worked; another where he lived.

Police seized a computer, electronic devices and accessories at the properties.

Bridgewater Police Service Sgt. Danny MacPhee told LighthouseNOW that the case is still under investigation, but that there "might have been images seized."

MacPhee noted that there is no indication that anyone else was involved in the assault, or that there were other victims.

Scheepers appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court on April 5th 2018 where he was remanded into provincial custody. His next court appearance is April 9th 2018 at 09:30 for a bail hearing.
