Bridgewater becoming vaccine cold storage site

by KEITH CORCORAN

The Main Street of the South Shore was expected to be one of the new cold storage sites where the necessary equipment to house all types of COVID-19 vaccines will be situated.

In a statement released January 19, the province indicated Bridgewater's location was to be established by February 1.

Within the next three months, Bridgewater will also be a place where a vaccine clinic for health-care workers will open so professionals involved in the COVID-19 response have access, in addition to staff, residents and designated caregivers in long-term care and residential care facilities.

The Bridgewater clinic and storage news comes as the province continues its vaccine rollout plans.
