Bridgewater Police on the look out after cemetery theft

Bridgewater Police are looking for a thief who stole a memento from a grave in the Brookside Cemetery, and who also caused damage to other graves nearby.

On November 17th, 2019, Bridgewater Police Service members received a complaint of theft from a grave in the north west corner of Brookside Cemetery, located at Starr Street and York Street, Bridgewater.

One of the more identifiable items taken was a "PEI Islanders" hockey puck, contained in a small glass case. The theft likely occurred between Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th of November, but may have occurred as early as November 5th.

It also appeared that there had been damage caused to ornaments related to other graves in that corner of the cemetery.

Anyone who may have witnessed individual(s) acting suspiciously in that location during that time period is asked to contact Cst. Thorogood of The Bridgewater Police Service at (902) 543-2464.
