While her name may have changed a few times over the years, the late Liverpool artist who was most often known by her maiden name of Danna Winters has been consistently recognized for her talent, and particularly her landscape paintings.

The Astor Theatre Society intends to showcase her artistic legacy until Jan. 7, 2022

Winters died in 2016 and left her paintings to her husband, Gary LaPier. After he died, many of her things were sold to Colleen Baggs of Liverpool Antiques Buy & Sell. She, in turn, gave them over to the Astor Theatre Society.

The Astor Theatre Society offered to display and sell Winters's works at the Town Hall Arts & Culture Centre.

"We are grateful for this gift and delighted to showcase Danna's works, in partnership with the Liverpool Firefighters Association," Jean Robinson-Dexter, the general manager of the Astor Theatre said n a news release. "Art was obviously an important part of Danna's life. We're so pleased that the community will now have an opportunity to enjoy her paintings, while at the same time, supporting the ongoing work of two vital organizations in her home community."

Winters lived her entire life in Liverpool, according to the release. She was a lifelong member of the Liverpool Legion Mersey Branch and she worked with the Sherriff's department for the Region of Queens Municipality. She married twice and was well-known by her maiden name, Winters. Over the years she signed her paintings as Winters, LaPier or Danna.

Her paintings are now on display in the culture centre's main floor gallery. They are also for sale, with the proceeds to be split between the Astor Theatre Society and the firefighters' association.

Sales are tax-free and the paintings are priced under $100. Show hours are 11 p.m.- 4 p.m., Tuesday to Friday, Nov. 19 -Dec. 17, and Jan. 4-7. The gallery will also be open prior to all live performances and events at the Astor Theatre throughout December.

The opening reception for the show and sale was held Nov. 24.
