Apartment fire in Bridgewater leaves one individual temporarily homeless

A fire in a four-storey, 24-unit apartment building in Bridgewater on January 11 has left a man temporarily without a home.

Initially, firefighters from the Bridgewater, Hebbs Cross, Wileville, Tri District Fire Rescue, Conquerall Bank, Petite Rivere, Pleasantville, Northfield, Dayspring, and Italy Cross fire departments were dispatched to the conflagration.

But when it was learned that the fire was contained to a single apartment within the building, all firefighters except those from Bridgewater and Hebbville stood down.

Dahl Dispatch reports a sofa was thrown out the window during the incident.

Canadian Red Cross volunteers have assisted the individual whose apartment burnt with emergency lodging and food pending cleanup and repairs.

He was not injured in the fire Saturday night and other tenants of the four-storey building on Jubilee Road were not impacted.
